“What I want in my life is compassion, a flow between myself and others based on a mutual giving from the heart.”
— Marshall Rosenberg, PhD
Nonviolent Communication
(AKA Compassionate Communication) — Marshall Rosenberg
Our words have the power to create profound healing or incredible suffering yet even with the best intentions, it is often difficult to express ourselves in ways that build harmony and trust. Connect to the spirit of love and generosity within you, and start contributing to the well-being of everyone you relate to.
A Program for Connecting and Relating to Others
What would it be like if you could just be understood by the people that you loved? What if people really listen to you and wanted to help you? Would it be nice if people sought out you and your opinions? Do you realize that what people want is to feel wanted, gotten and understood?
Learn the magic of listening to another person. Really hear what is alive for them. Get into their world and understand what they are dealing with, what they are feeling, and what their needs are. Learn to communicate in a way that leaves people feeling validated and appreciated. Once people feel heard, they are much more open to listening to your point of view. You will learn a model for communicating what you observe, your feelings, and your needs in a way that will leave others empowered and willing to help you.
This 13 week program teaches the basics of Marshall Rosenberg's "nonviolent communication: a language of life." You will develop new habits of thought and speech. It is through practice and application that your life will be transformed.
